I've just seen a post about this in another forum. It says : "I just
got off the phone with MS support (after 4 hours)....... Apparently
HOTFIX 834707 causes this problem ( it's bad). If you have no desktop,
you can fix this as follows...... Open up Task Manager (with the
Ctrl+Alt+Del key) Select File | Run type in appwiz.cpl (this will open
up the add/remove software window) scroll down to the Windows Hotfix
KB834707 remove it This will take a few minutes to complete click on
Finish when its highlighted the computer will reboot and should work
fine. Additionally, that same hotfix will show up in auto update
still. Select CUSTOM UNtick that update and select never show me this
again" Let me know if it works out Michel
