No figures on screen, but print OK. Why?

I have a Word file with Figures - some of these show up on the screen
in Word, others don't, but all print OK. Why can't I see them all?

Thanks Suzanne,

It was the picture placeholder thing - they aren't all in the right
place, but at least they are there now! it would be nice to have a
Help button when you are faced with choosing all of these options, but
that's progress for you
