No File Menu pull down in Word

I have a system that doesn't show a File Menu pull down on
Word 2000. It shows all the other pull downs (Edit, View,
Insert, etc...). Any ideas on how to get it back short of
a reinstall?

A reinstall wouldn't correct this problem since your personal settings
are maintained.

You can use the following steps to get it back:

- Go to View/Toolbars/Customize
- Select the Commands tab if necessary
- In the Categories section on the left select "Built-in Menus"
- Locate the File menu on the right
- Drag and drop it to the left of the Edit menu

Hi, MechMan,

Try renaming or deleting the normal.dot file on the hard drive. Word will
generate a new one with clean menus.

Also check your system for viruses--
