No hyperlinks in Entourage

I've read all the posts about Entourage and hyperlinks, and the MS MVP
responses. So, not to insult the MVPs, but the responses have been
brain dead. The inability to insert hyperlinks in Entourage is brain
dead. It's a glaring error on Microsoft's part. It is beyond stupid.
And honestly, I don't want to hear about workarounds and scrips, or
justifications along the MS party line.

You can insert hyperlinks in the Windows version of outlook, but not
in Entourage. It's like it was intentionally crippled. I can hear
Steve Ballmer screaming and pounding the table now as he insisted that
the office for mac group make an inferior product.

I bought a top of the line business application for my MAC, and i got
crap. And don't get me wrong, I'm not a MAC fanatic or a Microsoft
basher. I moved to the MAC because Vista has such horrible color
management and i'm in graphics. I tried to keep my MS office suite,
but that'll be the next to go.

And while I'm complaining, why can't Internet Messenger do video chat
with Windows clients? Duh! Microsoft may think that it's strengthening
the business case for Windows, but it's shooting itself in the foot.

We don't work for Microsoft and our job is to help users with what we have.
Please keep in mind that these newsgroups are peer-to-peer. There isn't much
we can do. The best way is to send feedback to Microsoft .

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications.

I do understand that you're not with Microsoft. I did find your suggestion
to provide direct feedback useful.

As for the hyperlinks issue, it really is a deal breaker for me. It's
unfortunate. I like Outlook, and really don't care for imail, which sort of
leaves me without a good solution.

Mail does have the ability to insert hyperlinks, though. That being said,
have you ever tried Mozilla Thunderbird? It works quite well, is
cross-platform and lets you insert hyperlinks and tables quite easily.

Thanks. I'll have to go get Mozilla Thunderbird and try it.

None-the-less, I do hope Microsoft is taking notice that a user who has
purchased a $500 office suite is not looking for a free replacement because
the free software offers a better solution.

I understand the feedback button in Entourage is a way to provide feedback
to Microsoft. And while it may seem like I'm simply venting, there is also
value to complaining about things like this in a public forum where other
users can see and share feedback. I don't want to complain in a vacuum.
Sometimes we're not just looking for a solution here, but looking if others
have similar issues.

Besides, the lack of real html email support, both for tables and links, is
just so far out of whack as to be unbelievable. This is a premiere office
suite, and I bought this for a small business. I send emails to clients with
quotes, tables, links, special offers. I do newsletters. And now, frankly, I
can't use my business suite...for business email, because it is
crippled.....
