FP Design View (and Preview) relies heavily on IE
(and use of your IE Temporary Internet Files Folder - clear it)
Also try the usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Run a Repair on IE
(see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
4) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
5) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
6) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
| "Try emptying your Browser Cache."
|
| No good....actually, if I turn on my computer, then go directly to FP,
| everything is fine. I click save, upload to the server, shut everything
| down. I do other work, open up FP later, bang no images in design view. Let
| me tell you what, I freaked the first time it happened! I called the owner
| and asked if he could view the images, thank God they were visible. I love
| FP, but am not getting it back!
