No Insert Menu

I just installed Microsoft Word X for Mac and I don't have an 'Insert'
Menu at the top. I have File Edit View Format etc but no Insert. When
I use Help for various things it refers to the 'insert Menu' to insert
an object. Can anyone help me with this problem?

One way:

Choose Tools/Customize/Toolbars. Select the Menu Bar item (so that it's
highlighted, not just with the checkbox checked). Click Reset. Close and
restart Word (if you're given the option to save the Normal template, do
so, since that's where menu information is kept).
