no longer able to add events

Hi there,
I am using Outlook 2007 on Vista Home. I have 2 pst files, one is called
"outlook 2009.pst" for current emails and the other is "email backup.pst". I
beleive the sencond one had my calendar info in it.

When I used to click on the calendar icon at the bottom of my email list,
the calendar would open up and appear as a 7 day calendar. I could add
events by simply clicking on a time and typing it in. I have tried using
scanpst and still no change.

As of a couple days ago, it no longer works the same, and I am at a loss for
what to do. Now, when I try to enter something, it's called a "discussion"
instead of an event, and it won't appear in the calendar unless I shut down
and restart Outlook.

Under My Calendars on the left I have "Calendar" listed first and it's
empty. Underneath it is "Recovered Folder 8262." When I select this
calendar, I can see the old events I had entered previously, but, as I
mentioned earlier, cannot enter new ones.

I would really appreciate it if anyone can offer some advice as to what to
check or do to fix this.

Thanks,
Joe

Your default calendar was not in the backup PST. It couldn't have been unless
all your other default folders were there as well. Default folders are always
in the same PST.

Sounds like your PST was damaged somehow and SCANPST did its best to clean it
up without being able to fully succeed. Create a new PST, make it your
delivery location, then copy the contents of the folders in the old one (the
2009 one) to the corresponding folders of the new one. Copy the contents pof
"Recovered Folder 8262" to the Calendar. When all the copying is finished,
remove the old PST from the profile.

Brian,
Thanks for the quick response. I was afraid that the pst file was damaged.
Creating a new pst and copying over email folders won't be hard. But, can
you tell me an easy way to copy calendar items from one pst to another? I
don't see a "Calendar" folder that I can simply copy over. Will I have to go
back and copy each even manually?
Thanks,
Joe

Open the "Recovered Folder 8262" and display it in a table view like By
Category. Press Ctrl-A to select all the items. Click Edit>Copy to Folder
and specify your new default Calendar folder as the destination.
