No longer on Exchange Server, how do I set up a new delivery?

I run an office with 15 users, we are using an Exchange server and
configure eacgh users profile with Internet Email. To simplify some of our
business, I am trying to resort to using internet email only, and still use
outlook to send/recieve emails, for calender and contact features. Once the
Mailbox is disabled on the exchange server I encounter problems with loading
the program. Is it because there is not delivery account set up? If so, how
do I set up a new delivery box?
I am using Outlook 2000.

File-> New-> Personal Data File...
You can set it as your default delivery location in the account settings.

Please explain more. Set what as my default? I have only internet email
account set up at this time.

So I figured it out, but now can you tell me how I can carry over all my
contacts, inbox, sent items, and calander info to the new folder?

By selecting them and moving them. For the Calendar it is eassiest to switch
to a table view like By Category (View-> Current View)
For subfolder other than the default ones you can simply move the entire
folder.

inside of "Outlook Today [Mailbox - Corey Brock]" Will this data be lost
once I shut down the exchance account?

All information that resides on the Exchange server will be inaccessible
when you shut down the Exchange server.

Move the individual items of the special folders; not the folder itself.
