no menus/toolbars in word

I am also using Office 2000, but on a Windows ME operating
system. I am experiencing the same problem with Word.

This problem has appeared in the last 24 hours. I used
word yesterday afternoon and everything was fine. Today,
no menu or tool bars.

I'm open to any ideas.
