No more soft page breaks...

Hi Folks.

I recently installed Service pack 2 and then realized that Word has stopped
automatically inserting soft page breaks as I work with my documents. The
funny thing is I then called up one of the "broken" documents on my laptop
and now the copy on the laptop is doing the same thing (like a virus, but my
viral protection system is up to date and the computers scan clean). I can't
seem to find any options that might have accidentally been turned off.

I have done a complete reinstall also, but it went right back to doing the
same thing shortly afterwards.

Anyone have any suggestions.

What view are you in? Do you have nonprinting characters displayed? When you
go to Format | Columns, is 1 selected?

Thanks for replying Suzanne.

I think it was the columns. For some reason when I open a new document the
colums are set so that there are multiple columns set.

Why would that have started all of a sudden? Is there any reason you can
think of? Has my Normal template been changed do you think?
