no normal.dot

I recently bought microsoft office and installed it and
began using it. it worked for a bout a week and the it
randomly started to crash as soon as i open it. I think
this is caused because I, for some reason, have no
normal.dot file in my template direcory. But reinsalling
the progam didnt get me one, and neither did updating.
From what i understand this file is supposed to be
recreated evey time word is opened and the file is not
found, but for some reason it is not. What should I do?

I would suggest you use your windows file search utility
for locating your normal.dot. I'm not understanding why
you would want to locate it, but you might try reading the
following....
