no paste function

[Baffeled by paste]

When I click and copy from any document using Office 2003 then open a new
word page I can not paste as the paste function is dead (greyed out)
I have to go to tools, options,edit and ckick the cut and paste options with
a tick , (Show paste options buttons and Smart cut and paste) delete the tick
and then tick again . After doing this I can then paste.
I have checked all the setting I can think of .
Any ideas why the paste function is dead until the boxes are ckicked on and
off and on again.

A guess would be that the Word Data key in the registry must be corrupt.
Delete the key and it will be regenerate when you next open Word.

Many thanks> I know how to eccess the registry but sorry I do not know the
path to the Word Data Key. Are you able to guide me please TF. Many thanks in
advance for your kindness. Jim
