No Print Dialog when initial opening of a word doc from IE (word 2

Hi,

When I open a word document from a link (within IE) for the first time it
does not allow me to print the document, either from the print button or from
the file --> print menu. A print dialog does not even appear.

If I close the document (not the application) and then click on the link
from within IE again, then I can print the document.

The document is being opened by Word outside of IE. I have repaired word and
reinstalled IE over the top of the existing version.

IE Version 6.0 SP1
Word 2000 version 9.0.6926 SP-3
