no print dialog

Processor: Intel

When I print from Word2004 I get a print dialog box with all the options such as which pages to print etc.
When I print exactly the same document from Word 2008 I do not get any print dialog box at all, not even a chance to choose which printer (!), and the whole document gets sent straight to the printer.
I have the latest versions of everything.

Have you checked for an updated driver for your printer? Have you repaired
permissions since doing any system, Office or driver updates?

Those are the first things to clarify. If the problem continues;

Does it make any difference whether you use File> Print, Print icon,
Command+P, or do the all do the same thing?

You're pressing the wrong button :)

The button on the toolbar is "FilePrintDefault". It is pre-programmed to
print 1 copy to the default printer with the default settings. You won't
get any dialog, by design.

There is another command, FilePrint... That will give you a dialog and all
the options. That's the one normally assigned to Command + p.

You can use "Customize" to place that command button on the toolbar instead,
if you prefer that.

Cheers
