No project update after timesheet approval

Hi,

we have installed Project 2007 Beta2 TR.
everything seems to be alright.
I can create a small project, assign ressources, publish it to project
server, fill in the timesheet and save it for approval.
The timesheet is automatically approved.

When I check my project in project web access, I do not see any progress (0%
completed)
When I go to Project Professional, open the project, click on collaboration,
update project progress. I get a message that I need to publish my project
in order to have task assignments.Strange.

Does someone know why my project is not updated?

Thanks

Hi PP,

Project Server 2007 has a different way of updating timesheets to Projects.
Timesheet entry does not automatically update the Project Schedule. In order
to achieve this you will need to use the "task update" option wihtin your
timesheet.

Just for general knowledge:
You can either update your task and automatically update your timesheet,
or you can update your timesheet and automatically update your project
or you can update both manually.
This allows you to enter information on different levels.
I hope this helps

Hi Marc,

Could you tell us where did you find this "task update" option?
Thanks ahead!

This is what I received from Alain who had the same problem:

<Timesheets are separated from Project 2007.

Time in timesheet does not put actual in a project.

In order for a project to take into account the actuals from a timesheet,
you need to follow the following process :

1. enter time in timesheet by the timesheet user ,

2. approve timesheet by timesheet approver,

3. under my tasks (logged as timesheet user), click « import
timesheet » button to import the actuals from the timesheet,

4. once the timesheet imported, select the tasks to update,

5. click "Submit Selected" button.

6. Logged as project manager, under Task Updates, click on "accept"
and then open the project in Project Pro => the actuals are filled in.
(or after step 5, you open the project in Project Pro and follow the
instructions given by Project Pro. It is the same as what you did in PWA)>
