No question - just a thank you

I've been doing design in Access & VBA for a few years now, and I'm lucky I
don't have to do it to earn a living - but I do enjoy it. Though I'm no
longer a novice, I'm no expert either - which is why I regularly need to
visit these discussions groups when I get stuck. My most recent problem was
trying to get a box on a form to count the characters left being typed into a
control elsewhere on the form. Simple enough I thought, and I'd almost got
it myself, but couldn't quite get it to work. A quick search on here and
within a short while I had the answer. On those rare occasions I haven't
found what I want, I've found links to other sites which have helped.

It must be frustrating for those of you who provide answers when people
don't take the time to search first before posting, and also when the subject
line contains no clue as to the problem ("Help needed urgently" - what use is
that to anyone?). But I guess that's the conundrum, if people didn't keep
posting, those like me mightn't be able to find anything when we search!

I've only ever needed to put one posting on here after hours of fruitless
searching over a problem I had, only to get an answer within minutes telling
me what I needed to do. And of course the answer was sooooo obvious once I
read it! Sometimes you just can't see the wood..

Anyway, I thought I'd take some time out to say a heartfelt thank you to all
you unsung heroes who've provided answers on here to so many people, over
such a long time.

You have spoken on behalf of many people here including myself.
And thank you for such words you put for our silent heros.

Thanks for this posting.

Just a reminder to those who do search these groups for current
information,
http://www.groups.google.com
has archived posts going back to the early '90's and it's advanced
search capabilities will return thousands of replies on almost any
Access subject.
