No scanners listed in Microsoft Office Document Imaging

I have two scanners installed on my PC but neither of them are listed when I
open Microsoft Office Document Imaging. I am using Office XP. I cannot find
any way to add the scanners to this program. They work fine with other
programs.

From the Help section I gleaned this bit of information

"TWAIN-emulation drivers will not appear in the Scanner list in the
Choose Scanner dialog box."

have you tried reinstalling the scanner?

I saw that. My scanner has a TWAIN-compliant driver, which is different
from TWAIN-emulation. I had gotten MODI working with my scanner (a Canon) in
the past. But I had to uninstall and reinstall Office when Outlook stopped
working, and now it doesn't show up on the list.
