No screen update during a VBA process when switching back to Acces

When running a long automated step within VBA, I provide feedback to a user
on progress either through syscmd or a pop up form with a record count, which
works fine. However if I alt-tab out of Access and then come back, the pop-up
form or syscmd no longer update ie they remain static until the automated
step terminates. Runnning Access 2003 - this did not happen on Access 2000.

Are you using the Repaint method or RepaintObject at all?

It might cause Access to come back to the front but if you
haven't used it, it might be worth a try.

DoEvents releases control back to the Operating System, so it can do work
that was "frozen out" by the executing VBA -- which may include drawing
forms and controls in your own application.
