no script font available in Word 2000

Hi,
I'm using office 2000 on a PC that's running windows XP service pack
2. I created a Word document and would like to change the font from
Ariel to script. When I tried to do this I noticed the script font
wasn't available within the list of fonts available in Word. However,
when I brought up the control panel and selected fonts I found the
script.fon fonts available. When I selected install I got an error
message that the font was already available. I'm assuming Word
already looks in the "fonts" directory but wasn't sure how the install
procedure worked so tried it anyway. The only thing I can think of is
that the script font listed in control panel is something that came
with XP and is not compatible with Word 2000? Any help in getting
Word to recognize that script font or letting me know where I can
download a script font for Word 2000 is greatly appreciated!

What's the name of the font you want and I'll see if I've got it to email to
you.

If its listed as script.fon in the control panel, it may have another
totally different name as a ".ttf" file. Scroll through the Word fonts for
the script one that you are looking for. This is just a guess!!

So far as I know, Word will not use fonts with the .fon extension. You'll
probably have to acquire a True Type or Open Type script font if you want
script.

..fon fonts are oooooooooooold school. With so many script fonts available, I
think it's time to look at another font. :)
