No send/receive buttons for e-mail

My mail is piling up in the Out Box. No send/receive buttons. I have Comcast high speed, and they tell me that the configuration is correct, and does not require authentication or a password. The self test works smoothly

But there is no send/receive function, the mail does not come in or go out

Which version of Outlook are we talking about? Have you already tried
recreating the mail profile?
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles...

Comcast high speed, and they tell me that the configuration is correct, and
does not require authentication or a password. The self test works
smoothly.seconds after I open Outlook 2003, then it disappears, and I can't find it
under the tools menu. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003. I
backed up and deleted the outlook.pst file and I've recreated my email
account, but I still have the problem. I've setup Outlook Express for the
time being but would like to have Outlook working again. Hope someone has
an answer.

Do you have a mail account set up? Go to control panel, mail and set up a
new one.
