No site templates installed

I am building a standalone server to demonstrate Project Server 2003. Have
run the configuration wizard and then installed project server, but when I
try to connect to WSS I get the error 'There are no site templates installed
on the specified server running Windows SharePoint Services. Verify that the
Web server is properly extended with Windows SharePoint Services'.

Have checked the URLs in the Project Server 'Connect to SharePoint server'
web page and these work fine, so what templates is the error referring to?

Rob -

From your sharepoint configuration interface there is an option to extend a
site.
Just out of curiosity are you following the installation readme that came
with Project 2003? If not, I'd suggest you look this over, print it, and
follow it to a "T".

Thanks for the suggestion - but I already have printed them out and followed
them as closely as possible!

Hi Rob,

Did you ran the template installation from project server CD

this is how it will wotk.

Insert Project Server CD > There will be a option to install sharepoint
templates

or use exporer and run stswiz.exe

This will install the templates.

Thanks

Had done all this! I have printed copies of the installation guides for
Project Server 2003 and thought that I had followed all the right steps,
including running the SharePoint configuration wizard from the Project Server
CD before installing Project Server.

I have now started again on another PC, and this time it has correctly
synchronised the Project Server documents with SharePoint. The only step that
I am aware of having changed is that I chose not to install the sample data
when installing Project Server.

Next step is to uninstall Project Server/SharePoint from the first PC and
try again...

Run WSSWIZ.exe or the STSWIZ.exe on the machine hosting SharePoint services.
