No Sound on New Mail Notification

Hello Everyone,

I've got a customer running Outlook 2000(SP1) on a Windows XP (SP2) Desktop
platform. Her Outlook client is accessing a mailbox that resides on an
Exchange 2003 server.

The problem is, she doesn't get any new mail notification sound (nor
pop-up), when she gets a new mail.

I've already made sure that all the necessary settings are in place, under
the Tools + Options + Email Options + Advanced Options, but it's not working.

It's weird because when I go into the Control Panel + Sounds, and select a
sound to play under New Mail Notification, I can test it and hear it just
fine.

Please advise,

I don't think Dave's advice has anything to do with the problem. Try this
