No sound when email arrives outlook 2003?

I understand when I launch outlook 2003..and a new email arrives..no sound
is supposed to play.

However, if I leave outlook running..and then hit send/receive..and a new
email arrives..should I not get a sound?

I checked the settings under tools->Options->Preferences tab->email
options->advanced email options

Play a sound is checked...


Control panel->sound and audio devices->sounds tab
A wav file is set for incoming mail...

I get nothing.....

Of course...other sounds do play...any ideas where to look to get outlook
2003 on windows xp pro to play a sound?

Hum..got it work now.....

I belive by un-chckdng play a sound..and then re-cheking it...that was my
fix....
