According to the HELP in MSWord 2007 I should have spell checking capacity in
locked forms if i use the Rich Text option, yet when i lock the form, i can
mispell with the best of them. The spell checking icon is greyed out, and no
red squiggly lines show, no matter how bad i spell things.

My question, is of course, how do i get spell checking to work in a locked
form?

Thanks!!!

The "Rich Text option" you refer to is a content control, which is not
compatible with the legacy form locking you've applied. The only way to
spell-check a locked form (which should use form fields, not content controls)
is to unprotect it first; see
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/SpellcheckProtectDoc.htm.

To make a document using content controls act similar to a protected form,
insert the content controls and regular text (but not form fields). Then select
the entire document and click the Group button on the Developer tab. The spell
checker will work in the content controls (but not in the text outside of the
controls, which you should check before you group the document).
