No subject line in new message

I'm trying to help out a co-worker. When he creates a new message there is no
"Subject Line". I have tried everything to find out what happened to it! He
previously had a Subject Line. He has tried shuttig down Outlook and his PC
but it did not make a difference.

version? is he using the outlook editor or word?

He is using Outlook 2002 and Word as editor.

I got it! In his new message, I went under "view" and clicked on "Message
Header". He doesn't remember turning it off, but apparently he did.
