Trying to attach a Word doc to an Outlook 2003 Task - error msg says,
"Attachments cannot be added to task items". Can do it in 2002; do I need
to change a setting?

Thank you.

I was able to attach a Word document without any problem and save.

Do you have rights to this document?
Is the document followed with a .doc ext?

I created the document, it's a homework assignment. It has a .doc extension
as well. I can't attach an email to a Task either. Maybe I have to change a
setting??

Thanks for your response, ~~K

I can't reproduce your problem in Outlook 2003. Can you list the exact steps
you've taken to try to attach the document to the task?

Sure, here's my steps:

From an open Outlook Task,
click the paperclip icon to insert a file
navigate to location of Word document
click "insert"

The file is inserted into the Task, however when I click "Save and Close" I
get an error message that states, "Attachments cannot be added to task items."

I've also dragged and dropped files, as well as emails, into the body of the
open Task, with the same result.

Thanks, ~~K

Are you using a .PST file? If so, try running the Inbox Repair Tool against
it to see if it finds any errors. Search your drive for a file called
scanpst.exe and run it. Allow the program to make a backup of your file
before it makes any changes.
