No window shows up when double clicking

Hello:

We are running Outlook 2001 in Classic under OS 10.3.5. On one of the
machines, we can open Outlook and receive e-mails but if we double click
on an e-mail nothing happens. Usually a new window would pop up
containing the e-mail. We can use the preview feature to view e-mails but
that is all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is the window possibly opening too far off the screen? Set your
monitor's screen resolution to the highest it will go and then test
opening a message.
