I'm an Emacs user from way back and the emacs keystrokes are burned deeply
into the small motor control area of my brain. But I also have to use Word
pretty regularly, so thank god for the ability to customize keystrokes! A
nice feature of Office 2003 was that I could use Word as one's email editor
in Outlook, which allowed me to use my emacs keystrokes for mail as well as
for writing documents. However, while Word is apparently now hardcoded into
Outlook in the Office 2007 beta, it seems to be a cutdown version, as my
keyboard customizations are no longer available to me when I'm doing email in
Outlook. Am I right about this or has someone found a way to get one's
keyboard customizations back?
