No www in website address

I inherited a FrontPage 2003 designed website from a previous employee. When
accessing the published website if you type http://www.companyname.com it
won't work, but http://companyname.com (no www) it works fine. How do I
modify the site to use the normal www?

I guess it must depend on the browser. Both work for me under IE6

Let me clarify. The actual site is http://willametterestoration.com which
works fine in any browser I've tried, however with
http://www.willametterestoration.com I get a connection has timed out message
with every browser I've tried including IE7

Yes, I get "Page cannot be displayed" message with IE6
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be
experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser
settings.

I guess someone else who knows more needs to answer your query.

I am wondering why you need to use the www prefix. I find a lot of sites
work without it

Contact your host and make sure they have mapped both variations for the domain
- some hosts don't unless asked to
