NoMacro not working

slinger

I have a document where I have inserted "Click and type" fields using the
syntax,

{MACROBUTTON NoMacro [Enter Project Number]}

the problem is, when I click on the text to be replaced, it doesn't get
replaced, When I start typing it simply inserts the typing before the Macro.
I have changed security settings in every direction. I tested with
Microsoft's own fax templates that offer the same functionality, and the same
thing happens. This leads me to believe that something is broken somewhere.
But I don't know what, or where. Does any one have any insight into this?

I have also tried using the following syntax, and it does not work either

{MACROBUTTON AcceptAllChangesShown [Enter Project Number]}

Do you have "Typing replaces selection" checked on the Edit tab of Tools |
Options?

That did it. Thank you. (something so simple, and you would think it would
be set by default.)

I think it *is* enabled by default, but it may have been disabled by some
poorly written add-in. These often change settings irrelevant to their
function.

Hello Suzanne, I hope that you get this post. I'm having the same problem
with NoMacro not working. I am using ms word 2007 in compatibility mode in
order to use this with word 2003. Everything seems to work fine until I
protect the template. When I tab through the form it doesn't stop at that
field and I can't click it either. I checked word options and Typing replaces
selection is checked. I opened in word 2003 on another pc and it worked until
I added protection. I can't figure out why it is not working. Please help.
Thanks

MacroButton NoMacro fields are not compatible with forms protection. If you
want a protected form, you'll have to use form fields, which you can tab
between. For an unprotected document with MacroButton fields, you can use
F11 and Shift+F11 to move between fields.

Thank you very much. I searched everywhere trying to find out what I was
doing wrong. Thanks to you I can move on with my document template.
