Non-calendar gantt chart?

Is it possible to set up the gantt chart to show something
other than time duration? We would rather show progress
by lineal feet rather than progress by days. Can this be
done and how to do it?

The main goal of Mr. Gantt's invention was to see the dependencies of the
tasks in a timescale. What you are looking for is not a function of MS
Project, but perhaps you can copy the fields (task and % completed) to
Excel, there you have the diagram-chart-wizard to build your graph.
