Non commercial use of office pro 2007 upgrade licences?

When i bought my father his copy of 2007 upgrade the salesman told me that if
its for personal use not company use, you can install it on up to three
machines. Is this true?

No. There are no "upgrades" that allow for that. Office 2007 Home and
Student Edition is for noncmmercial use and allows for up to three
installations but it is not an upgrade version. Nor is it Office Pro. I
suspect either the salesman mispoke or you misunderstood). No insult
intended - it can be confusing dealing with the various editions/versions.

I bought the Office 2007 Home and Student Edition and installed it a couple
weeks ago after the trial on my laptop expired. How do I upgrade to the Pro
version ? I interpreted this version as a Home Office version. I will upgrade
to the commercial version, but what do I do with the opened Home and Student
Edition version. Best Buy won't accept it opened.

Thanks,
Pete

One more thing...as a piece of advice: Make the note on the cover in LARGE
RED BOLD FONT, so consumers will actually notice this.

having a light yellow on yellow is a perfect way to confuse people. Your
marketing team should know this.

I'm curious to know what other people on the thread thinks about this.

Thanks,
Pete

If you get the Office Pro *upgrade* then you must keep the HSE. If you opt
to buy the full version of Office Pro, then you are free to try to sell the
HSE.
