Non displaying characters

Hello,

I have a strange scenario. I have a spreadsheet that in one column
contains car registration numbers.
When I attempt to type in the letter sequence MYU as in E123 MYU, the
U disappears.
I have tried this on different PC's and different versions eg 2000,
2002, 2003 and all act in the same way.
A different combination eg S 123 YYU works correctly.
I cannot see anything untowards in custom lists or cell formatting.
Saving in different file formats does not solve this.
Has anyone seen this before?
Any input very welcome.

Hi
works for me without a problem but try the following:
- format the cell as 'Text'
- precede the entry with an apostrophe. e.g. 'E123 MYU

Hi Ket

Go to "Tools>AutoCorrect", scroll down the list and remove the entry to
replace "myu" with "my"
