Non-email Marketing Campaigns are brain-dead

The enforced assumption that a list of accounts linked to a campaign is ONLY
appropriate if the campaign is email-based is down-right arbitrary and
undercuts the utility of this feature for real world applications.

When creating a Marketing Campaign, ANY choice other than E-mail or Direct
Mail Print results in the disabling of any radio button selection other than
"Other" In the "Who will see it?" section. This is SERIOUSLY broken and
should be changed as soon as possible.

The selection of a list of Accounts, Business Contacts, or Leads when
creating a Marketing Campaign is, in effect, a bulk record update that links
the list members to the campaign. Under the current design I cannot do
something completely reasonable like say, "I'd like to telephone all these
folks to discuss a special offer."

Outlook is perfectly capable of supporting my placing and logging phone
calls or face-to-face meeting ntoes. Why wouldn't it make sense to select a
group of Accounts, Business Contacts, or Leads and telephone them rather than
e-mail them?

At present, the ONLY way to associate, for example an Account, is to open
the individual account, click the "Initiates By..." button, drop down and
change the Folder selection to "Marketing Campaigns," and then double-click
the campaign or select and press the "Link To ->" button!? Are you kidding
me? In a real world situation where I may routinely have several dozen,
hundreds, or thousands of Account (Contact or Leads) that I want to telephone
and track the success of this effort?

The fact that Account, Business Contacts, and Leads CAN be linked to
Marketing Campaigns (via an awkward and round-about manner) means that there
is not programmatic/data-model reason that Marketing Campaigns have to be so
brain-dead. By simply relaxing the "helpful wizard" that enforces arbitrary
and illogical usage restrictions, BCM Marketing Campaigns become virtually
useless (for anything other than sending out an email).

PLEASE relax this restriction and let Marketing Campaigns be the useful
things that the can be.

Thanks BCM Team for listening and working this into your next release, PLEASE.
