Non outlook users receiving calendar details

When I want to send out a meeting request to another
person who doesn't use Outlook, when they receive the
details is like all jiberish, instead of nice looking
meeting request/reminder showing what, when, where and
who. The preference is set to HTML. Is there a way that
a non outlook person to receive a nice looking event sent
to them?
