Nonexistent project plans appear in dialogue box

Ed

This has got me really stumped.

Background:
MSP 2003 Pro SP1
Project Server SP1
WSS SP1
SQL 2000 SP3a
Project plans are task based, no resources are used in the construction of
plans.

Both users have the same permissions:

User 1. has visibilty of one project plan - this plan appears in the
file/open dialogue box, PWA and PS database.

User 2. has visibility of this plan plus two others. These additional plans
can be opened and viewed. They do not appear in PWA nor in MSP_Web_Projects
table. However, they are listed in MSP_projects table, does this mean that
they are on the server?

As administrator, I have the same view as user 1.

There are no errors in the Event log, and the spooler does not contain any
info.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Ed,

Since the projects are visible in MSP_PROJECTS they are really stored in the
database. However they might not show up in PWA e.g. because they have never
been published successfully. A customer had a couple of projects like that,
they were created for testing purposes and all of a sudden Project
Professional crashed.

Try the steps listed in this document of projectserverexperts.com
http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/BinaryRebuild.htm
I haven't tried that yet but will eventually do the same when I'm with the
customer again. Make sure you publish the project plan.

Let us know your progress...

Marc
