normal dot already open message

every time I open word (2002), I get the message "The global template
NORMAL.DOT is already open as an add-in program"

I have just re-loaded word and I still get this message. I checked under
add-in on the tool bar, and there are no add-ins.

Do I feel a virus coming on??

In Word, click on Tools | Options | File Locations. If the "User
Templates" folder and the "Startup" folder are the same, then that is
what is causing the error message.

Unbelievable response time *and it was right on* I changed one of the
folder designations and the problem went away.

You're very welcome. I should have mentioned that in Word 2002 and
2003, the default Startup folder is "C:\Documents and
Settings\<YourUsername>\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP", and
the default User Templates folder is "C:\Documents and
Settings\<YourUsername>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates".
