Normal.dot Changes

I am sure that this question has been asked many times, so could you send me
a reference to the answer?

When WORD gives me a question like, "Changes have been made that affect the
global template, Normal. Do you want to save those changes?" is there anyway
to discover what are the changes that I am being asked to save? I am using
Word 2002 in Office XP with Windows XP Home.

You're right, it's been asked many times. Beth Melton wrote an article

Thanks Jay for the reference, but that article is not quite on target for my
question. I am not referring to the "... Do you want to save those
changes?" pop up bug that some folks have to constantly endure whenever they
exit WORD. Sometimes that question about the Normal template is a
legitimate one, and I am trying to find out whether there is any way to
discover what are the changes that I am legitimately being asked to save.

Any other ideas?

devs; they seem to think it was reasonable, so perhaps we'll see it in
