Normal.dot corrupt???

B

Bob Igel

I have had a continuing problem with macros that I create using the
recorder. These will work so long as I keep the current document open, but
if i have to reboot my PC for any reason, the macros no longer work.

I am creating these in Word 2002 using the Macro recorder, and saving to
normal.dot. I have checked the Security level of the macro...it is set to
"medium," which should allow me to save and use the macros.

Yet when i reopen word...the macro file in normal.dot is empty.

HELP!

Are you being prompted to save Normal.dot when you quit Word? If so, are you
saying yes? If not, the macros won't be saved. If that's not the issue, then
is Normal.dot read-only, replaced at startup, or bypassed by using the /a
switch in the command line of the shortcut used to start Word?
