Normal.Dot File Save Location

When Word 2003 exits it keeps on wanting to save Normal.dot to a Read Only
network share which is define in Workgroup templates. User Templates is set
to C:\Documents and Settings\userxyz. I thought Normal.Dot is supposed to
save to whatever User Templates is defined.

This is with XPSP2/Word2003 with all patches.

Adobe Acobat 6.0 is installed, with their files in Office 2003 STARTUP folders

Does anything change if you uninstall or deactivate the Acrobat add-in? This can
cause so many anomalies that it makes no sense to start trouble-shooting other
things before one's certain it's totally out of the picture.

I fixed by changing Workgroup templates to My Documents on the local hard
drive then save the settings and quit Word 2003. Then I restarted Word 2003
and quit to make sure the error message is gone. Then I changed Workgroup
templates back to a Read Only network share and save the settings. After
that, the error message about saving Normal.Dot to a read only network share
never showed up again.

I don't why the steps above fixed it.

Thanks

Nor do I, but thanks for taking a moment to report back what worked :)
