normal.dot gets larger each time i open and close word by about 6.

Each time I open and close word, the normal.dot template grows by 62Kb. Does
anyone know why this is happening. I first noticed it when Word was taking
30 seconds to open. The template was over 20 Mb.

What version of Word do you have?

If you have Word 2003, then is the Word 2003 Redaction Addin
installed? If yes, try uninstalling it, and see if the problem
persists.

The problem could also be caused by some other add-in that is not
functioning properly. What add-ins do you have installed? See

Make sure you have FastSaves turned off in your Save options.
Make sure you have "Prompt for changes to normal.dot template" checked.

Those two things will help diagnose what is happening. Version of Word you
are using?

My normal.dot is big and is about 1.7 mb.
