normal.dot problems

Is there any way to stop this? I don't have any macro viruses or any
external COM apps loaded. Every time I close word, this dialogue appears:

"The file Normal.dot already exists. Do you want to replace the existing
file?"

I click No. Then it asks me to "Save As....". I click cancel.

Then File -> Exit... Same thing.

"Changes have been made that affect the global template, Normal.dot. Do you
want to save those changes?"

Click no.

Word Exists.

Repeat Ad Infinitum.

BTW, Word 2k on win2k.

I've tried deleting and renaming Normal.dot but to no avail.

Did you get Word as part of Works Suite? Are you using Word as your email
editor?

I fixed it.

I had a sneaking suspicion that it was Norton Anti-Virus Corporate Edition
that the school passed out for free, because my install of Norton Anti-Virus
2002 also ceased to function.

I'm not sure exactly what the correct fix _would_ have been, but I'm sure a
re-install of either will be fine.
