Normal.dot Template Question

Mike

If I do something (for example) like:
Tools -> Options -> User Information
and change what's in the Name box,
the next time I go to File -> Properties,
the new name will show up in the Author box --
meaning that Normal.dot Template has saved it.

What I'd LIKE to do is:
Format -> Tabs and where it says:
Default tab stops: change it from 0.5" (which is
the default to 0.1". Whenever I do that (change
it to 0.1" and click OK, the next new document
I open still reads 0.5" (whether or not I close
Word and/or reboot, etc.

Is there a way to get the default Tab Stop setting to 0.1"
(and have it stay that way for all future new documents)?

Any suggestions would be appreciated and I thank you in advance,

Mike

You can do what you are attempting to do ... but, Save your changes as
normal.dot...
Enjoy!

That's exactly what I'm trying to do!
Can you tell me what steps to take to accomplish that?

Thank you again,

Mike

OK, I have been a bit dumb - I can now see where to choose to use the
offline help. But is there a way I can set the default to be offline help?

Thanks
