Upgraded my Office XP Professional to Service Pack 3 and all recommended
updates, and now when I attempt to open any Word doc, I get a message that
the file does not exist. I know the file's there cause I navigate to it when
attempting to open it, and I can see it there. Then when I attempt to close
Word, I get an error stating "The file Normal.dot already exists. Do you want
to replace the existing file? It makes no difference if I answer yes. I have
the same problem whenever I open Word. I uninstalled Office, reinstalled it
without Service Pack 3 and everything works fine. So I reinstalled Service
Pack 3, and Voila, the same problem. This leads me to believe there's a
problem with Service Pack 3. Any help would be appreciated.
