Normal template missing

I just installed Office 2008 on my second computer. The normal template is missing from "my template." When I close Word I get an error message that tells me to check my network connection or check to see that the disk was properly inserted or not corrupt. I reinstalled Microsoft Office but that didn't fix the problem. What should I do to fix the problem?

Hi Marlene:

First, apply Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.0.1 Update
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx>

Your Normal Template should be the level above "My Templates" and it's named
"Normal.dotm"

/Users/ ~ /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/

But all bets are off until you get that update in.

Cheers
