Normal Template

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

When I have finished using Word and Quit, a popup appear saying that Word cannot create or save the file, to try and free space etc...if I say okay (only option), it brings up the browser for me to save my Normal template, I cancel out of this, try to Quit again then another popup appears: there have been changes to the Global template "Normal" and would I like to save them. I say don't save and am allowed to quit the program. Is there a patch to fix this? Thanks.

Hello Tucker -

It sounds like you may be one of the few who are bitten by the Disk Full
bug... Not really common with 2004 but does affect some. See here:

http://word.mvps.org/Mac/DiskFullError.html

The additional prompt about Normal is due to having a preference set, which
really isn't a bad thing. It makes you aware of changes being saved to your
Normal template (on which all new files are based) and covers changes you
make to a number of Preference settings, modifications to built-in Styles,
AutoText entries you create, customizations to Toolbars & Menus, and various
other modifications. If you want to do so go to Word> Preferences> Save &
clear the check for Prompt to Save Normal Template.
