Norton AntiSpam and Outlook 2003

Chris Lucas

With Norton AntiSpam installed, emails "sent" to Outbox
(POP3 connection) are marked as Drafts and therefore do
not send!

A workaround seems to be to "forward" the draft, which is
then sent, on Send and Receive.

Any thoughts?

I sure hope that is just your first step in
troubleshooting Ken. Perhaps you could add the second
step as well to help Chris out just a bit more?

I suppose another good fix might be "buy another
computer". But generally we are here to try and solve a
problem, not disable our vital software. ;-)

I have been using Norton Anti-Spam 2004 with my Outlook
2003 and have not experienced this issue. I have 6 Pop
accounts and one Hotmail being used.

But I think you are not talking about a "BUG" at all. I
think you are talking about the normal function of
Outlook. Anything you MOVE into the OUTBOX will just sit
there forever. The best fix I have found so far is to
open the message and choose "RESEND THIS MESSAGE" from
the "TOOLS" menu. It isn't elegant, but it does the job.

Now WHY are you moving things to the OUTBOX anyhow? Are
you drag/dropping from HOTMAIL into Outlook in order to
send on a different network?

Does anyone else have any good ideas?

I don't know what you are ranting about, I can't fix bugs in either
Outlook or in Norton. If disabling Norton fixes the problem then the
problem is with Norton and a fix must come from them. There are many
reported problems with Norton, especially with their script stopper,
that have persisted for many versions of Outlook. If you are using
Norton without any problems then I salute you, others aren't as
fortunate.

If Norton is the problem then the user has to live with the problem,
disable Norton, wait for a Norton update that fixes the problem or
find another anti-virus software to use.
