Not a blank page

Everytime i open word it opens with a document i created some time ago. I
have uninstalled the program, even deleted the folder from program files.
After i reinstall it and open word it opens the document and not the blank
one it should load. I am using Windows XP and office 2000, Sorry its long
winded. Any help please. Sam
