NOT A VALID DATABASE FILE

Hi,

I have desgined a database solution for my office and have
run into a very peculiar problem that I can't pinpoint an
origin of. The front-end is a MS VB 6 application, using
ADODB connectivity with an MS Access 2000 database that
sits on a shared drive for public access.

The users had a problem connecting to the database and it
seemed as if some data was lost. I opened up the database
and found out that some of the tables had lost their
primary keys and had started adding duplicate ids. I also
found out that the relationship between these tables were
broken and no more there. I exited it out and tried to get
back in again and I get the message that the file is not a
valid database file. I also tried MS Access to compact and
repair the file, but that failed too. Now the entire
database with the data in it is lost.

Please do let me know if anyone has experienced this
before and if there is a solution to this problem.

Taimur,

Something worth trying would be to create a new Access
database and to try to import all of the objects from the
problem database into it. This fixes many problems.
