Not a Valid Web Archive - Message

When I try to open .eml or .nws documents, I sometimes get the message
"filename is not a valid web archive"

I like to save these documents and edit them rather than printing them
directly. I'm running Word 2002 and Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP Home.

Can you tell me what's happening?
